The Coalition for Pulmonary Fibrosis (CPF) and the Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation (PFF) are applauding the efforts of Pulmonary Fibrosis (PF) patients and family members for their work to convey to the FDA and an FDA Advisory Committee the sense of urgency and desperation regarding the disease and the lack of treatment options. The committee voted 9 to 3 to recommend approval for the drug by the FDA. If approved, the therapy, Pirfenidone, would be the first FDA approved drug for PF.

Police yesterday obtained a remand order to hold a 33-year-old woman until March 20 in connection with the murder of her alleged lesbian lover on March 3. Kota Star police chief Assistant Commissioner Abd Ghafar Rajab said the woman, from Seberang Nyonya, was detained after she was discharged from the Sultanah Bahiyah Hospital at 1.30pm on Saturday. In the incident, Suhana Mohd Shariff, 26, succumbed to 12 stab wounds in the abdomen and chest after an heated argument with the suspect.

Nicholas Argenti, a 71-year-old Navy veteran with severe lung problems, collapsed in his backyard in July. An oxygen tube disconnected, and he fell unconscious.

Kansas officials say they have no records about the removal of asbestos-contaminated material at the state's prison for women. The Topeka Capital-Journal filed an open records request with the Kansas Department of Health and Environment. The agency released documents related to contracts for professional asbestos abatement at the prison in 2007, 2008 and 2009.
